While working as an underwater observer, Danny Stevens, a student who hopes to become an oceanographer, spies a mermaid swimming past one of the portholes in his underwater habitat. Later he meets and befriends the mermaid, named Aqua, and learns that she is the daughter of a man and a mermaid. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, lithe legs, and iridescent green scales.
