On a distant planet, an advanced and peaceful alien species thrives, focused on the advancement of their society through science. When an experiment to create a new form of energy goes horribly wrong and the resulting explosion devastates the planet forcing evacuation, a group of alien scientists are sent on a desperate mission to find a new planet and ensure the survival of their race. After months of searching, the aliens detect an energy signal from a nearby planet. Earth. The year is 1943. January 1945, Ardennes, Belgium: A group of soldiers, one being young John Worthington, survive a German barrage. Together they go in search of help but what they find in the snow filled forest is much more terrifying. An alien/human hybrid massacres the men, leaving only John Worthington as a lone survivor. Fast forward 20 years... June 1967, Khe Sanh Valley, Vietnam: Another war, another generation. James Worthington's son, John, journeys to his next assignment. Recovering from a devastating ambush that annihilated his platoon, he is wary of leading men back into the thick jungles. His new assignment is to lead the men of a forward-operating base to find and engage the growing enemy presence in the area. As James leads his new platoon into the jungle, they all soon realize that there is something more sinister at work; something evil and dark that is causing casualties on both sides unknown to either enemy. A species all too familiar to the government and, ultimately, a war one is never meant to win. All the while, James battles against this unseen enemy whilst also battling his own demons. He must beat them both if he is to lease his men to safety and survive. In war, heroes are made and friends are lost. But most terrifyingly of all in war THEY come.
