více..."King Solomon," debonair proprietor of Solomon's Palace, a nightclub on Broadway owned by gangster "Ice" Larson, is in charge of the club while Ice is imprisoned in Sing Sing. While gambling with three tough racketeers, led by Roth, who is Ice's rival, King loses $64,000 that he borrowed from Ice, and will be forced to sign over the club to the gang unless he can pay them within three days. That night, King's car is hit by Nikki Bradbury, who has a rich uncle, Winchester, and although he is not badly hurt, King is brought to the Bradley mansion, and a friendship develops between him and Nikki. When Ice is paroled, King tries to keep his losses secret while planning to make enough money to win back the club. Nikki visits the club and wins $1,000 in a rigged rumba contest with King's friend, Pinky Tomlin, a masked dancer, drawing much publicity to the palace. The contests are profitable for the club, and Ice, for the time being, is mollified. The Palace's featured singer, Gloria De Vere, called the Queen of Sheba, however, is jealous of King's attentions toward Nikki, while Ice has designs on Sheba. Ice's rivals then kidnap Nikki and blame Ice, jeopardizing his parole. King confesses to Ice about his gambling debt, and Ice agrees to help him if King will clear his name in the kidnapping. While Ice frees Nikki in a gunfight, King walks into the gang's hideout and flashes a fake bank roll and wins back the money he lost. Via a radio transmission, Winchester learns of King's danger and rushes to the hideout with Nikki and saves King from being killed. He then buys the nightclub and King's share is enough to pay off the gamblers. Winchester puts King in charge of the club and he is reunited with Sheba and they marry.
