1. | The Starting Line | An assortment of various people are randomly chosen to meet in Key West, Florida by a shady emissary, known only as 'Mr. Bright', to compete in a cross-country, illegal car race for a $32 million prize. Among the characters introduced is Alex Tully, a Nebraska landscaper searching for his kidnapped wife when he's partnered with a shady woman, named Corinna Wiles, who claims to know more about the race and those behind it. Wendy Patrakas is Ohio housewife and recent mother fleeing from an apparently abusive husband, and during the first leg of the race to from Key West to Jupiter, Florid, she gets arrested for speeding. Winston Salazar is a recently paroled ex-con who joins forces with his younger half-brother, Sean, as a means to prove himself. Others include U.S. Army serviceman Rob Laird and his wife Ellie. Violet Trimble is a rebellious teen traveling with her nebbish father John who tries to keep the event to himself. Ivy Chitty is a teen from New Orleans traveling with two nurses, Leigh and Susan, whom she cannot stand being around. více |

2. | Partners | After having come in last in the first leg, Wendy is given the unenviable task of eliminating one of her fellow racers, or faces elimination, herself. Winston's half-brother joins the race as his partner, as Alex finds himself a new partner as they realize the leg to Cape Canaveral is only a part of the next segment of the race. více |

3. | Let the Games Begin | On the road from Florida to Rome, Georgia, Alex and Corinna gets separated when Alex gets arrested by a shady Florida state trooper who claims to know him from years ago that he participated in an armed robbery. Meanwhile, Sean is forced to call upon his father's "business associate" for help when Winston gets abducted by a beautiful bounty hunter for violation of his parole. Ellie continues to keep Rob's phone messages from him and eventually tells him that she does not want him to return to active duty. Violet tries to persuade her father to lie about his involvement in the race to her mother, while he continues to lie to her about his worsening health. Also, Wendy becomes somewhat uncomfortable about spending the time with her new driving partner Ivy after her betrayal of Leigh and Susan to join Wendy in the race. více |

4. | No Turning Back | Tully and Corinna are forced to call on the aid of Winston and Sean to help them break into a bank in Georgia to steal a safety deposit box in the bank's vault which holds a clue to where the finish line may be. Meanwhile, Wendy wants to quit the race when she learns that her infant son may be in danger, but Ivy is not willing to give up and forces Wendy to drive on by literally putting the gun to her head. Disqualified from the race after arriving last at the drive-in theater, Susan vows to continue the race with Leigh because she tells Leight that she claimed to have had a vision from God to continue the race... giving away the fact that Susan might not entirely be sane. Also, Rob finally learns that Ellie blocked his phone messages from his commanding officer to return to active duty which makes him now a fugitive from the U.S. Army. více |
